Prague- First full Day: Prague Castle and Saint Vitus Cathedral

On January 4th, we were off to Prague Castle.  This particular castle dates back to the 9th century and according to the guinness Book of World records, it is the largest ancient castle in the world.  it takes up 70,000 square meters.  You can read more about Prague Castle here

Of course while we were waiting, the kids were only interested in playing in the snow.:)

Saint Vitus Cathedral
Saint Vitus Cathedral is inside the grounds of Prague Castle  and I was able to take pictures inside!). Many Bohemian Kings and Holy Roman Emperors are buried here as well as Saints Vitus and Wenceslas.  You can read more about Saint Vitus Cathedral by clicking here.

After our tour of the castle and the Cathedral, we were off to lunch and the Old Town Square.:)

The Prague astronomical clock is the third oldest astronomical clock in the world.  it was installed in 1410.  every hour on the hor all the crowds gather around to watch the clock's performance.:)  To learn more about the Prague Astronomical clock, click here.

It is so awe inspiring to see such a city so rich in history!:)
